Msule Care Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
We collect little, keep it briefly, keep health information in India, and lock the private parts so that even we cannot read them.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Msule Care is an Android app made by Msule ("we", "us"). It helps someone look after someone they love: a parent, a husband or wife, a child, a friend. In this policy the person who sets things up and looks after is the "caretaker", and the person being looked after is the "loved one". A caretaker can also look after themselves, and two caretakers can look after each other ("Care together").
This policy covers the Msule Care app. Our general website has its own policy at /privacy-policy.
2. What we collect
- Your phone number. Caretakers sign in with a one-time code sent by SMS. A loved one's phone connects by scanning a code and does not sign in with a phone number. A caretaker may also save a loved one's number, so the app can call them; it is locked like the other private details.
- Names and language that you type, and a picture chosen from six cartoon faces (never a photo of a person).
- Medicine details you add (name, strength, notes) and the words of a reminder.
- Voice replies and voice messages, up to 10 seconds each.
- Pictures of a medicine strip or a prescription, only if you add them.
- Dose answers (Taken, Later, not confirmed) and their times, and the times your medicines and reminders are set for.
- Whether a phone is still checking in, its battery level, and whether its alarms are allowed, so the caretaker can be told if a phone has gone quiet.
- A push-notification address for each phone, and technical crash reports (the phone model, the Android version, and the error; never names, numbers, medicines or audio).
What we do not collect: your location, your contacts, your call history or your messages. There are no advertisements and no advertising identifiers, and we do not use artificial intelligence on your information.
3. What is locked, and what is not
Medicine names, strengths and notes, reminder titles, voice notes and messages, and photos are locked on the phone before they leave it, with a key that is held only on the phones that belong to the family. What is stored on our servers is unreadable to us and to anyone else without that key.
Some things must stay readable so the service can work: the times of doses, before or after food, start and end dates, whether a dose was taken, display names, phone numbers, and the time something was saved.
4. Where it is kept
Medicines, doses, voice notes and photos are stored with Google Firebase in Mumbai, India.
Three things are handled by Google outside India: signing in with your phone number (Firebase Authentication, in the United States), delivery of push notifications (Google's notification service), and crash reports.
Push notifications never contain a medicine name or a health detail. They say things like "Maa's 8:00 am dose is not confirmed yet".
5. How long we keep it
- Voice notes and their records: 7 days.
- Dose records and daily summaries: 30 days.
- A medicine strip picture: while the medicine is active, and removed when it is stopped or deleted.
- A prescription picture: removed once the medicine is added, and in any case within 7 days.
- Your account and the medicines, reminders and people you added: until you delete them.
6. Who can see what
A loved one agrees before anything about their day is shared with the caretaker, and can pause sharing on any day. The caretaker sees the day's status, not more.
With Care together, the other person sees only what you add for them and the voice messages you send them. They never see your own people, medicines or reminders. Either of you can stop at any time, and everything shared between you is then removed.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. Google (Firebase) processes it for us as our service provider.
7. Your choices
- Pause sharing, or disconnect a phone, from inside the app. Disconnecting stops the alarms and erases what is saved on that phone.
- Stop caring together with someone, which removes the space you shared.
- Ask us to delete your account and your family's records: see /msule-care/delete-account.
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by writing to us.
8. Children
Msule Care is not made for children to use on their own. A child's medicines are set up and looked after by a parent or guardian, who is the caretaker and agrees on the child's behalf.
9. Security
Every read and write is checked on the server against who you are. Private content is locked on the phone, as above. Our cloud console is limited to named team members with two-step sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, and the lock on a phone is only as safe as the phone, so please keep your phone's own screen lock on.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
